Ever since I was 10 years old, I knew I wanted to be a writer and I longed to hold my first book in my hands more than almost anything. I spent most of my youth writing fiction, however, and if you had told me my first book would be about natural skincare, I would have laughed.

But decades of skin problems pointed me in the direction of making my own beauty products, which led me to open an all-natural bath and body business, which led me to meet many people who asked me again and again to share what I had learned and how I cleared up my skin, which led me straight to my computer...

I sat down to write a “booklet” in the summer of 2013 and it turned into what I initially called Glowing: Soulful Skincare (now known as simply, Soulful Skincare). As time went on, I knew the name was a little off (it was time to drop the “Glowing”) and more than anything…I knew I needed to be on the cover. I was terrified of the notion, but felt the knowledge of that pulling so hard on me that I had to take the leap. (Any many thanks to my brilliant photographer, Chance Martin, for making that happen!)

It’s the same book…yet this is the most authentic version of them all. Because it’s finally wearing its true “skin.” Because it shows you the truth of the person who wrote it.

The next step is the sequel of this book – a book that I knew I had to write to take things to a much deeper level. I’m so excited to get to that point, but for more reasons than you can imagine.

These projects are the final, lingering books of the most recent iteration of my Self. I had to finish these and send them out into the world in the best energetic alignment they could have in order to make room for the stuff that’s already heading out of the gate and onto the race track. I long to spend more time on my fiction (Mary never shuts up – I’m working on not one, but two sequels to The Poison Box), and on some projects that marry my writing with my other artistic passions.

I plan on churning out books assembly line-style in 2017. And some projects a little more outside the box.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this new, true blue version of Soulful Skincare. Thank you all so much for your support.

And keep checking in – I have a fantastic interview to share with you that I haven’t been able to upload due to massive computer issues. Cross your fingers that the stars will align enough to help me successfully edit and upload!
