The Briarlore Tales are original, illustrated fairy tales that take us into the wild places of the soul where we truly belong. They remind us of who we really are and help us along our path.

The Fox Bride is a fairy tale for grownups about a curious fox who falls in love with a human man. What will she do to win this man? Is she willing to give up everything that she is? And if she does give up everything, will it be worth the sacrifice?

This story is loosely based up Den Lille Havfrue (The Little Mermaid) - and not the Disney version! I borrowed from the swan maiden and selkie legends, as well. I love the idea of an all-consuming love that makes someone question everything they are. And most of all, I love it when that journey takes them back to one relationship that matters more than anything: The relationship with themselves.

As with all the Briarlore tales, this book includes an essay about love, the masks we wear, the fantasies we have, and the dreams we explore as women.

I have also included not one, but two recipes for using mugwort, this book’s plant ally.

The Fox Bride will only be available during two purchasing periods in 2019. This advanced copy purchasing window will be open through September 28th. All purchases made during this time will be shipped by November 4th (It takes approximately a month for the books to get printed). All books will be signed.

A second purchasing opportunity will open in late October in time for holiday shopping.

This book, in this form, will not be available in big box stores - nor will it be available on digital platforms (Kindle, Nook, etc.). Each copy is signed by the author and personally packaged and sent to the readers with love. These books are meant to foster a deep connection between writer and readers - a connection often lost in today's buying experience.

The Briarlore Tales are very expensive to print in full color, and as such, cost more than the average paperback, and certainly more than the average illustrated storybook. Thank you so much for supporting an indie author and illustrator by making this purchase.

"An engaging and poetically written book. It was a perfect cozy evening read that got me thinking about what lengths we go to for love."
